Congratulations to Uusikaupunki and Ukilife!

  • The Ukilife online magazine was born out of a desire to showcase the distinctive lifestyle of Uusikaupunki – a laid-back, down-to-earth, and inspiring way of enjoying life in an idyllic coastal town. On Uusikaupunki’s birthday, April 19, Ukilife is already celebrating its fifth anniversary!

Let’s take a look at everything that has happened along the way.

383 stories from Uusikaupunki have been published over five years. On Ukilife’s digital pages, local people – from artisans to entertainers, from world champions to Santa Claus – have been given the spotlight. At the heart of each story is a personal, unique life story and everyday life right here in our beloved hometown. Alongside these inspiring life stories, the magazine has also offered a wide range of timely tips for leisure activities.

candles will be blown out on the Ukilife cake on Uusikaupunki’s birthday, April 19. In its very first articles back in 2021, the magazine dove straight into what matters most: finding a dream home, hobby opportunities, inspiring ideas for home and garden, and introducing places that are meaningful to locals. The response from readers was just as enthusiastic as from the creators – yes, this really feels like us!

323 053 readers have found their way to these stories from Uusikaupunki – proving that this fresh and distinctive lifestyle truly sparks interest! And would you believe that, in addition to Finland, the stories are actively read in countries such as the United States, Germany, Ireland, and Spain? The articles are available both in Finnish and in English.

1 Helsinki holds the number one spot in reader statistics. Turku comes in second, and the people of Uusikaupunki themselves rank third. Perhaps these captivating stories inspire readers to visit this gem of the west coast – or even to stay for good?

2024 The year was marked by local home cook Marita Frimodig winning the popular MasterChef Suomi competition. Marita also ranks high in Ukilife’s all-time most-read articles – “Marita Trusts in Taste” is the most popular story in the magazine’s history. In the article, Marita shares her background, her journey through the competition, and her food philosophy, which – as the title suggests – is based on three things: taste, taste, and taste.

164 478 active users have visited the Ukilife online magazine regularly. The lifestyle of Uusikaupunki clearly resonates and keeps readers coming back to these stories again and again!
