Events for music lovers

The unique Crusell Music Week in Finland culminates in magnificent concerts on the last weekend of July. On Thursday evening, July 25th, enjoy an Evening at the Opera at the New Church and the legendary Night of Lanterns at Vallimäki. On Friday, there’s the Crusell Evening at Pooki, and on Saturday and Sunday evenings, concerts at the Old Church. This charming music festival attracts top performers from around the world every year – come experience the magic of Crusell!
If you prefer more laid-back rhythm music, head to Uusikaupunki from August 16th to 18th, when the Wibes Festival takes place in Narvilinna, Lokalahti. This community-oriented and nature-friendly festival is being held in Uusikaupunki for the second time. In addition to music, the festival program includes workshops and various low-threshold activities designed to create a more communal and diverse experience for visitors.
On the same weekend, August 17th, Uusikaupunki also celebrates the Night of the Arts. This cultural event, spread across the town, offers a wide range of music, theater, art exhibitions, cinema… and much more!
And of course, don’t forget the abundant musical offerings from local restaurants – music plays on the terraces almost daily until the end of summer! As autumn approaches, the Cruselli Cultural Center offers numerous concert experiences, such as Anne Mattila’s 40th anniversary concert and Anna Eriksson’s Christmas concert.
Vintage charm

The historical wooden town is naturally full of events where you can feel the wings of history. On the last Tuesday of July, July 30th, you can peek into the yards and gardens of old Uusikaupunki houses with a guided tour. After the two-hour tour, enjoy an outdoor afternoon coffee – how perfect!
A broader house tour invites guests on the first weekend of September, September 7th-8th, when dozens of old houses open their doors in the popular Uusikaupunki Old Houses wooden house event.
But before that, the 100th anniversary of the Turku-Uusikaupunki railway will be celebrated on Friday, August 2nd. The vintage Lättähattu train will arrive at the Kalaranta station in the evening, where there will be a festive program.
And then there are the charming wooden boats! The tar-scented feel-good event Puupaateil Pakkahuoneel gathers wooden boat enthusiasts together again on Saturday, August 10th. At the same time, there’s a gathering of other hobby vehicles, Möljä Mittinki. There’s plenty to admire and get inspired by!
