3 x further education
- For the graduating young people, the world is their oyster. We asked three people at the end of their studies about their future plans.
Maria Arvonen, 18, Student in her final year at Uusikaupunki general upper secondary school
“My plan is to go into the army this year or the next. I’ve wanted to go for some time now, and the thought of Police University College reinforced my intentions. After the army, I plan to apply to the Police University College. I am interested in the physical requirements and deversity of the profession. I have always been interested in a functional job and, as a police officer, I’m sure that every day is going to be different.”
Helmi Rantanen, 15, Student in the 9th grade at Uusikaupunki comprehensive school
“After careful consideration, I decided to apply to the performing arts study programme of Turku classic general upper secondary school (Turun klassillinen lukio). I considered multiple options but, in the end, the fact that I can complete a dance diploma in this school solved the issue. Even if I get accepted, I still might not fully move to Turku; however, if the dance rehearsal finishes late on some days, I’m sure I’ll spend some nights there too.”
Essi Luukkala, 19, Business student at Novida vocational college
“I am going to apply to Turku University of Applied Sciences to become a Bachelor of Business Administration. I live in Laitila with my boyfriend, so Turku isn’t too far away. And it’s good that we now have a remote study point that we can use for our studies. I’ve always been interested in numbers, and mathematics is one of the school subjects that I excel in. I’m sure I’ll get to play with numbers in my BBA studies as well.”
