When driving toward Lepäinen from town, you will find freshly picked new potatoes and onions from the new crop at Jari Kinnala’s Pottuautomaatti potato automat on the left-hand side of the Vohdensaari crossing. If you need potatoes, they are only a phone call away! At Pottuautomaatti, you can pay with cash or by Mobilepay.
Pihapuoti Heinonen, Peteksentie 155
Along the Peteksentie road in Kalanti, MTY Heinonen’s Pihapuoti is a treasure trove for the local food gourmand. On a single visit to Pihapuoti, you can find free-range eggs, potatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbages, herbs and other harvest vegetables, and even summer flowers. The self-service shop is open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Please make sure you have cash with you for payment!
Matti’s strawberries and garden, Lyökintie 623
Crunchy carrots, potatoes from the new crop, tasty strawberries and lots of other summer treats are sold at Matti Salminen’s garden shop. The selection on offer varies by harvest, although there will usually be fresh Finnish archipelago bread and hanging basket flowers available. Cash payments only!
